Brewery. Did nothing in morning. Thought place was going to be shelled at dinner time, all went down to the cellar. Something doing, go back to Report Centre Farm in afternoon. Up to the woods in evening to act as reserve in attack being made on German trenches at edge of wood. Stay out in the open all night in the rain. Help in stretcher bearing carrying wounded back from firing line to dressing station. Chapman wounded in the arm. 400 casualties partly owing to our own artillery not stopping in time.
