Friday 9th April 1915

Billet at school. Go round for good hot wash at No 9 café afterwards. Clean up inspection in morning. First issue of ‘Green’ envelopes. Dinner at the ‘Dairy’, rice, bread and butter and eggs. Heavy thunderstorm this morning. Go to the cemetery in the wood for Jenkins’ funeral but, as the chaplain did not arrive in time, had to return.
